Some Tips to Take Care of Your Hair
A beautiful and smooth hair will add a lot of charm to you.
It doesn’t matter if you have curly hair, thin hair, oily hair, dry hair, or any other type of hair—certain hair care tips are universal. While you may want to tailor your routine to your hair type, the basics of hair care are just as important to know. Keep reading to learn some hair tips that will allow you to start taking better care of your hair.
Good habits
The first step in hair-care is your diet and the two most important things in your diet are iron and protein. The hair cells are the fastest growing cells in our body but they are also the first ones to be affected. If you don't eat right or suffer from deficiencies, it is easy to tell from the condition of your hair. Your hair will become withered and yellow, lusterless, and easy to break or fall off.
So, the first step to keep your hair healthy is to get enough nutrients. Try and include iron-rich foods like leafy vegetables, fish, beans, and cereals in your diet. Doctors suggest that you consume around 12 mg of iron daily. You also need protein because that’s what strengthens your hair. Include complete proteins which are also rich in amino acids: like cheese, milk, soy, lentils, peas, and yogurt.
Then, what you need to know is that it is normal to lose 100 to 150 hairs a day, so don't panic when you see a small bunch of hair crawling on the tiled floor. Comb your hair with care, especially when it has knots. Start at the ends of the hair and work your way up rather than top down. This ensures no pressure is put on the roots, minimizing damage. Otherwise, your scalp will be damaged and cause a lot of hair to fall out of you.
Wash
When you are ready to start shampooing, follow these steps to help you develop healthy hair-care habits.
1.Wet hair and scalp with warm water. Too hot water can actually strip your hair of essential oils, which can leave it feeling drier and looking duller. And shampoo works best on wet heads and hair. 2.Pour shampoo in the palm of your hand. Putting the shampoo in the hand first makes it easier to apply. 3.Try to massage the shampoo gently into the scalp. When shampooing, it’s important to wash the scalp rather than the entire length of the hair. Washing only the hair often leads to flyaway hair that is dull and coarse. Rubbing shampoo into the hair can break hairs, leading to unhealthy looking hair. 4.Rinse well with warm water until the hair is suds-free. Rinsing well washes away shampoo and dirt. 5.Wrap a towel around the wet hair. This helps to absorb the water. Rubbing hair dry with a towel can damage the hair, causing it to break. 6.Comb out damp hair gently. Use a wide-tooth comb, especially on curly hair. Don’t yank or pull the comb through the hair because that can pull out hair or break the hair. |
Note:
-
If your hair is dry or curly, you should use a conditioner.
-
Don't wash your hair everyday. Washing your hair every 2-3 days is the best.
-
If you feel any kind of irritation on the scalp or find your hair drying up over time then try and buy a sulfate-free shampoo.
Heat
1.Protect hair before heat styling
We all love how our hair looks after a blowout or heat styling session, but excessive heat styling can do a number on your hair. While we wouldn’t expect you to part with your hot tools completely, it is a must to make one small adjustment when you’re using heat to style. Every single time, you should be applying a protective product first. Spritz on a heat protectant before blow-drying, straightening, or curling your hair, which is one of our most important hair tips to follow.
2.Keep your hot tools on low or medium setting
When it comes to heat styling, it almost always is not necessary to turn your tools up to the highest setting—those super-hot settings are actually intended for in-salon treatments! Keeping your hot tools on the low or medium temperature setting will get the job done just as well, and without causing nearly as much damage to your strands.
3.Dry Your Hair Naturally
Blow drying makes your hair as beautiful as that of your on-screen idol. But excessive heat styling can damage your hair scalp. Air drying or towel drying after the shampoo is the best way to go. Never sleep in wet hair or comb wet hair. Harsh rubbing with a towel can damage the cuticle of your hair. Be gentle.
Others
1.Trim Your Hair Regularly
Cut about 1/4th an inch of your hair every 6-8 weeks to get rid of split ends. Split ends form when the hair is damaged due to heat styling, pollution, smoking, stress, and so on. Trimming does not magically make the hair grow faster. Hair growth happens at the scalp level, but trimming ensures healthy hair.
2.Choose the right comb
The wide-tooth comb can get rid of knots, dead hairs, and build-up of impurities. The thicker your hair is, the wider the comb's teeth should be. If your hair is curly or frizzy, opt for a comb with extra wide teeth and always use it on damp hair, working from the tips up to the roots to preserve your curls' shape.
The tail comb is the perfect tool for creating sophisticated hairstyles as well as slicked-back ponytails structured by a middle parting or multiple sleek braids. It quickly separates your hair and marks out clear sections.
The fine-tooth comb is your best ally if your hair is lacking in volume. Besides its volumizing abilities, the fine-tooth comb can smooth down the surface of the hair for flawless hairstyles. If you wish to create a sleek look, spray hairspray on your comb, then carefully comb your hair. Say goodbye to lumps, unruly strands, and frizz!
